Calf Strain - Rehab

With a calf strain it is very important to ensure that before you return to activity that you have fully recovered and follow a plan to enable a gradual return to reduce the likelihood of the injury reoccurring. Stats show within 1 month of returning to sport is then highest risk of reoccurrence!

Calf Strain Rehab - What to do!

Early Stages - (you've just injured yourself)

To begin with, anti-inflammatory medication, ice and rest is in order, we need to firstly give the muscle time to repair on its own, you could use a compression bandage to help keep any potential swelling down.

Later Stage Rehab - 

​

This stage should begin when you've noticed a significant decrease in the pain level from your injury, this issuing to be at different times for different people, use my contact details which are below to find out if this is right for you. The aim of this to build strength and reduce the chance of the injury happening again! It is at this point where a Sports Massage would help you!
